The movie although not what I expected, was better than I thought.
The movie was comedic and yes some of the dialogue was corny, however there were some interesting points that were made. 1) The movie lived up to it's description about a place where sexual freedom abounds. One rule that I can see was broken, that rule, feelings were allowed to intervene. Paulo, fell in love with his fellow cruiser and the fellow cruiser did like wise. Paulo had a wife that would make me turn to another man. She wasn't happy and she took that out on Paulo. Paulo wasn't happy and he found somewhere else to release his frustrations, only difference is, he found a kindred spirit in the guy with the platinum blonde hair.
The fellow cruiser was everything that Paulo wanted in a mate. Only thing was, the mate was a male. Paulo even got jealous when he saw "the fellow cruiser" knocking off another guy.
The fellow cruiser had his own issues. After the black guy knocked off the "fellow cruiser", the fc began to cry. He had this look on his face as if he were violated. He had feelings for Paulo.
This movie made me understand the cliche', Curiosity killed the cat. Paulo tried to use the fact that he was married and was religious as a way of his not giving into what he felt, but he couldn't run from who is was.
At the end, this movie really hit home and brought up some interesting lessons. No the movie wasn't awful. It wasn't standing in line for an academy award, but it wasn't awful.
